Mindfulness Stress Reduction – Short Course for Community Members
Explore mindful meditation practices in this abbreviated version of what is typically delivered in an eight-week course. Participation in all four classes is highly encouraged, as information will build sequentially.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an evidence-based program that has been offered for over 40 years as complementary treatment alongside traditional medical and psychological approaches. Research has shown outcomes associated with increased self-awareness, emotional and attentional regulation, and significant reductions in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.
No experience is needed, and this can also serve as a “refresher” for those with an established mindfulness practice. Participants can sit in chairs or on mats; mats are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Classes will be held in the Bard Conference Room or the east end of the dining room.
This program is fully funded by Parkview Bryan Hospital and the Bryan Chamber of Commerce.
6 hours total - CEUs for educators with approval through their local LPDC.
